Story of CAG

1977 was the year of two vital developments in the UAE energy industry. Abu Dhabi Marine Areas Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO) was set up to develop the Abu Dhabi Marine Areas concession including the Umm Shaif and lower Zakum fields and Zakum Development Company (ZADCO) – to develop the upper Zakum field. These two companies were to become loyal customers of Control & Applications Emirates (CAE).

Since then CAE has been writing its story of success. Starting as an electrical and instrumentation engineering services provider, CAE has grown to become a leading engineering, procurement and construction contractor of the energy sector and most importantly it was the foundation stone of Control & Applications Group.

In 2005, a Management Buyout of CAE was completed which was followed by Rashed Saif bin Jabr Al Suwaidi becoming the majority shareholder in 2006. The new owners vision was to develop CAE to become a full-fledged EPC Contractor by expanding the company’s service portfolio. This would be achieved through organic growth in addition to acquiring equity stakes of profitable businesses and formation of Joint Ventures with Partners.

In order to gather CAE and all associated companies under the same umbrella, CAG was established in 2010 with a mission to enable the players of the energy industry the Middle East, North Africa and other countries worldwide find complete engineering solutions for their needs under one roof, optimizing the costs.

Since inception, the Group has formed several Joint Ventures and both invested in and successfully divested different technology companies.
